The story
In the heart of Demigny, Burgundy, Cave et Cuisine is a wine bistrot where the passion for great bottles and honest cooking is front and centre. The restaurant is the latest chapter in a family story steeped in hospitality—a grandfather who was a pastry chef-chocolatier in Vienne, parents who ran a Michelin-starred hotel-restaurant at l'Ermitage Corton in Beaune, and siblings and nephews who continue the tradition in Beaune and Singapore. Chef Fabienne Parra now writes her own page here.
The atmosphere is described as convivial and warm, a place where the wine list is a point of pride. The selection focuses on the best growers from across France, with a special emphasis on the gems of Burgundy. Expect to find exceptional vintages, carefully chosen to accompany a meal or simply to enjoy on their own.
On the stove, Chef Parra prepares traditional, generous cuisine that changes with the seasons. The menu is written on a slate board, offering market-fresh dishes that highlight local produce and Bourguignon savoir-faire. Think comforting, flavourful plates—asparagus in spring, Bresse poultry, langoustines, and seasonal tarts like apricot. The cooking is described as homemade, passionate, and rooted in tradition.
This approach has earned Cave et Cuisine a place in the Michelin guide, a recognition that feels natural for a restaurant so committed to quality and authenticity. It is an ideal address for anyone who loves wine and straightforward, well-made food in a relaxed, personal setting. Children are welcome, and the restaurant offers outdoor seating, free Wi-Fi, and is wheelchair accessible.
