The story
At La Gazette in Évreux, chef Xavier Buzieux welcomes guests to a restaurant defined by precision and warmth. The kitchen works with meats and poultry sourced exclusively from French and EU producers, a commitment that underpins every plate. The restaurant’s recognition with a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026 reflects its ability to deliver good-quality cooking at a fair price – a hallmark of Buzieux’s approach.
The modern cuisine here is expressed through two set menus. The Menu 36 € offers a choice of entrée, plat, and cheese or dessert. Starters such as carrot and ginger in contrasting textures or a langoustine soup set the tone. Main courses include a fine tart of Breton gurnard with onion compote, arancini, and a zaatar black olive vinaigrette, or chicken ravioli with a vegetable minestrone and herb broth.
For dessert, a chou moulé with apple, Pont-l’Évêque cheese, and cider jelly sits alongside a ricotta and cherry cake with cherry sorbet. The larger Menu gris (48 €) expands the selection, while a carte is also available.
La Gazette is open from Tuesday lunch through Saturday evening, closed Saturday lunch. The dining room is air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible, and takeaway is available. It’s a place that honours both tradition and seasonality, in the heart of Évreux.
