The story
In the historic heart of Fréjus, steps from the town hall, L'Amandier has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2007 – a distinction that rewards careful cooking at a fair price. The restaurant occupies two air-conditioned rooms in a pedestrianised zone, with a private room available for events and a terrace for warmer days.
The kitchen draws on the flavours of the Mediterranean, working with fresh, seasonal produce. Menus change regularly, but recent offerings have included ravioles of scallops and leeks with curry, confit beef cheek Provençal-style, autumn vegetable fricassée with creamy polenta, and a warm chocolate biscuit with fruit sorbet and coulis. The emphasis is on clean, direct flavours that let the ingredients speak.
Three menus are offered: the Menu de L’Amandier at €36, the Menu Gourmand at €48, and a lunch formula at €24. All reflect the same modern, ingredient-led approach that has kept the Bib Gourmand inspectors coming back year after year.
The setting is calm and discreet, with attentive service that reviewers consistently praise. The restaurant is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility, and parking is available three minutes away at the Paul Vernet car park. L'Amandier is open for lunch and dinner, closed Sunday all day and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at lunch.
