The story
Opened in March 2023, Sème quickly made its mark on the Norman coast. Just a stone’s throw from Granville, this restaurant in Saint-Pair-sur-Mer describes itself as “tradi-moderne” – a relaxed bistronomic spot where the menu changes every week, sometimes more often. The kitchen works with raw, fresh, and local products: eggs from Le Manoir de Glam’s, vegetables from Le Potager bio de Jérémy, lamb from the salt meadows of Courtils, and cheeses from Clos des Moines. Butter and cream are central to the cooking, so the kitchen is not suited to lactose-free or vegan diets.
There is no fixed menu at Sème. Instead, the carte evolves constantly, driven by what is available from the Manche’s producers. The team offers a tasting menu and vegetarian options, but the focus is always on the season and the terroir. A recent cocktail competition win – the “Solé,” made with carrot juice from the Baie du Mont Saint-Michel, local cider, pepper syrup, honey, and cider vinegar – shows the same inventive, local-first spirit that runs through the food.
Within a year of opening, Sème received its first Michelin Bib Gourmand, an award for good quality, good value cooking. It has retained that red plaque every year since – in 2025 and again in 2026. The restaurant also earned the Écotable label (three macarons) in June 2026, becoming the only certified restaurant in the Manche. For diners seeking modern cuisine that is both grounded and surprising, Sème delivers a genuine taste of the Cotentin.
