The story
Le Clair de la Plume sits in the historic village of Grignan, at the foot of its Renaissance château. This is Provence as it should be – quiet, sun-washed, and unhurried. The restaurant forms part of Les Maisons du Clair de la Plume, a collection of six properties spread across the village, each with its own character. The gastronomic dining room itself is housed under a glass verrière, allowing the soft southern light to filter through as you dine.
The kitchen is co-signed by Glenn Viel, a chef with three Michelin stars at his own restaurant, who brings his signature precision and respect for produce to the menu. The cooking is modern, delicate, and rooted in the flavours of the region. Dishes change with the season, drawing on the bounty of the Drôme Provençale – olive oil, truffles, vegetables, and herbs. The result is a cuisine that feels both inventive and deeply connected to its terroir.
Awarded one Michelin star for high-quality cooking, Le Clair de la Plume delivers an experience that is refined without pretension. The dining room is elegant and calm, the service attentive. The wine list is carefully curated, with a strong focus on local and French selections. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a memorable meal in Provence, this is a restaurant that delivers on its promise: a place to forget the noise of the world.
