The story
La Tête de l'Art occupies a manor house in Guérande, a medieval town in the salt-marsh region of Brittany. The dining room is elegant and warm, with a terrace set in the courtyard. Private salons accommodate groups of up to 30 people, offering a convivial space for family or business meals.
The kitchen, led by Marie and Hugo, sources from a tight network of local producers: the Jardin d'Aliwen market garden, Huitric fruit and vegetable growers, the Jardins de la mer for seaweed, and the Ferme du Bois Joubert for meat. This commitment to short supply chains defines the restaurant's modern cuisine.
The menu changes with the seasons. At lunch, a three-course formule is available at 35€. In the evening, guests choose from three tasting menus: the Menu du Faubourg (3 services, 49€), the Menu Esquisse (4 services, 66€), or the Menu des Artistes (5 services, 79€). A la carte options include dishes such as grilled octopus with wild garlic and white asparagus, or veal with bulot and cherry. Desserts like a revisited tiramisu or a strawberry with frozen meringue and white chocolate ganache complete the meal. Wine pairings are offered in two-, three-, or four-glass formats.
The restaurant has been recognised by the Michelin guide, a testament to the precision and creativity of its modern cuisine. Marie and Hugo aim to offer a place of meeting, discovery, and celebration, in a chic yet relaxed atmosphere. La Tête de l'Art is open Tuesday to Saturday, serving lunch and dinner. It is a destination for those seeking honest, well-crafted cooking in a setting that feels both special and approachable.
