The story
Le Jardin opened its doors on 2 October 1988, founded by Damien and Annick. Over the years, it became a fixture of Haguenau's dining scene, earning a place in the Michelin guide for 27 consecutive years. Today, the restaurant is in the hands of Romain and Justine, who trained in Michelin-starred kitchens before returning to continue the family story. They bring a contemporary vision while respecting the restaurant's identity.
Romain and Justine share a deep love for the sea. Their Modern Cuisine puts fish, crustaceans, and marine inspirations at the centre, changing with the seasons. The cooking is described as sincere and respectful of the product — no unnecessary flourishes, just precise, flavour-driven plates. The restaurant's tagline, "Entre traditions et innovations," captures this balance: traditional foundations, modern execution.
The menu is structured to suit different moods. For a quick weekday lunch, the Menu du jour (26€) offers entrée, plat, and dessert. The Menu retour de marché (45€) gives more choice across three courses, served lunch and dinner. For a full experience, the Menu découverte (82€, or 110€ with a 4-glass wine pairing) is a five-course journey served to the whole table. The atmosphere is both refined and convivial, with outdoor seating available in season.
Le Jardin's Michelin Recommended status confirms what locals have known for decades: this is a restaurant where family, tradition, and a love for the sea come together on the plate.
