The story
At Le P'tit Roseau in Issoire, chef Maël Paulet and his team practice a philosophy of cooking that is rooted in nature. The restaurant’s modern cuisine is built on a foundation of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with a particular emphasis on vegetables, aromatic herbs, and wild mushrooms that the chef enjoys foraging himself. The kitchen also works with beautifully caught fish, treating each ingredient with the respect it deserves.
The result is a style of cooking that balances tradition with invention. Through concentrated juices, subtle emulsions, and original flavour combinations, the team creates dishes that are both generous and precise. The restaurant has held a Michelin Recommended award since 2018, a recognition of its consistent, thoughtful approach.
The dining room has been renovated to create a calm, soothing atmosphere. The space is intentionally understated, allowing the food to take centre stage. Whether you visit for a weekday lunch or an evening meal, the setting is welcoming and refined.
Le P'tit Roseau is run by a passionate couple. Sonia Lucas, co-founder and manager, brings ambition and warmth to the front of house, while chef Maël Paulet leads the kitchen. The team is described as dynamic and passionate, essential to the restaurant’s smooth operation and its ability to deliver a memorable experience.
The restaurant offers several menu options. A lunch menu at 25 € is available from Wednesday to Friday, while a more extensive menu at 41 € is served every evening and on weekends. The team also curates a thoughtful wine list, selecting bottles that complement the dishes.
Since 2018, Le P'tit Roseau has been a Michelin Recommended restaurant. This award reflects the restaurant’s steady commitment to natural, flavour-driven cooking in a relaxed setting. It is a place where the love of nature and the pleasure of eating come together, simply and well.
