The story
At L'Astrolabe, the guiding principle is simple: "cuisine d'ailleurs avec des produits d'ici" – dishes from elsewhere made with ingredients from here. This philosophy, which the restaurant calls "Cuisine du Monde Responsable," places local sourcing at the heart of a truly global menu. Fish comes straight from the La Rochelle fishermen, vegetables and fruit from Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Parthenaise beef from just a few kilometres away. Only a handful of essential ingredients are imported, used sparingly to keep the ecological footprint low.
Every dish is made in house, drawing on memories of travel, dreams, and personal stories. The result is a contemporary, fusion cuisine that feels both adventurous and grounded. Wines and beers are selected for their taste qualities, and the team approaches each day with genuine passion.
This commitment to flavour and responsibility earned L'Astrolabe a place in the Michelin guide, a recognition that underscores the restaurant's ability to deliver a refined yet welcoming experience. With air conditioning, outdoor seating, a private room, and wheelchair access, the setting is as thoughtful as the cooking.
