The story
For eighteen seasons, Auberge de l'Espérance has welcomed guests to Le Buisson-de-Cadouin with French cuisine that is both diversified and traditional. The restaurant, run by Fabienne and Joseph Tortora, offers a welcoming space where the focus is on sharing good food and time together. The kitchen serves lunch and dinner from Thursday through Monday, with the restaurant closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The auberge features an outdoor seating area that provides a pleasant atmosphere during warmer months. Inside, the dining room is described as elegant, yet the tone remains familial and unpretentious. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and pets are welcome. Self-parking is available on site.
While the menu itself is not detailed on the website, the restaurant’s foundation is classic French cooking. The owners emphasise traditional and diversified French dishes, crafted with care. Payment options include major cards, Apple Pay, and holiday cheques—paper meal vouchers are no longer accepted.
Auberge de l'Espérance has held a place in the Michelin Guide for many years, and the team proudly acknowledges the guide's trust renewed for 2026 with a "Recommended" distinction. This recognition reflects a consistent commitment to quality that keeps regulars returning season after season.
The restaurant closes for annual holidays from 9 to 17 June 2026, reopening on 18 June for the 19th season. The owners express gratitude for the support of their clientele, especially through challenging times.
