The story
Auberge de la Marine sits at the heart of Le Crotoy, facing the Baie de Somme. The restaurant’s modern cuisine draws directly from the surrounding landscape: vegetables from local market gardeners, fish from the bay’s fishermen, and cheeses from artisan producers. Each dish is a reflection of the season and the place, prepared with respect and creativity. The air of the bay sometimes drifts in, grounding the meal in its setting.
Pascal Lefebvre is the chef behind the kitchen. He chose to settle in the Baie de Somme years ago, drawn by the richness of the terroir. His cooking is described as accessible, warm, and without pretension, yet demanding in its precision and quality of ingredients. He works with producers he knows by name, sourcing directly from the land and sea. Alongside him, Lucie Lefebvre manages the front of house with a natural warmth that makes the restaurant feel like a home. Together, they are members of the Collège Culinaire de France and Disciples of Escoffier.
The restaurant occupies a traditional house in Le Crotoy. The atmosphere is calm and unhurried—a place where time slows down. Guests can choose to dine indoors or on the outdoor terrace when weather permits. Three guest apartments above the restaurant allow visitors to extend their stay, waking to the sounds of birds and exploring the bay before returning for dinner. The accommodation is classified as three-star tourist furnished property.
Auberge de la Marine has been selected for the Michelin Guide 2026, a natural recognition of the consistency and integrity of Pascal Lefebvre’s cooking. The modern cuisine stays true to its roots: honest, generous, and built on the finest local ingredients.
