The Boelen family restored the manor with a light hand, preserving its authenticity while introducing modern comforts. A half-millennium-old purple beech tree guards the entrance, and the property stretches down to Butin Beach – the same shoreline where Impressionist painters set up their easels to capture the light.

The manor offers eleven refined rooms and a terrace with a direct view of the sea. Its restaurant, on the ground floor, is the heart of the house: a place where the family’s commitment to quality and generosity finds its fullest expression.

The Restaurant: Modern Cuisine, Local Roots

The restaurant at Le Manoir des Impressionnistes serves modern cuisine that draws its strength from the region. “The generosity of the place is expressed through sharing dishes, highlighting the best local products,” the team explains. The menu changes with the seasons and is built around producers whose names are listed with pride: oysters from Utah Beach, foie gras from Houssaye Farm in Épaignes, beef from Lemarchand in Rouen, and sea bream from the Barfleur Tide.

Standout dishes include a rib of beef for two (approximately 1.3 kg), farmhouse pork chop from the Guénouville Farm, and sea bass fillet. A black rice risotto with seasonal vegetables gives weight to the vegetarian option. The cheese selection comes from affineur Alex Rouillec. Desserts such as lemon meringue tart and strawberry pavlova close the meal on a bright note.

The Michelin guide has recognised Le Manoir des Impressionnistes with its Recommended distinction, confirming what the regulars already know: this is a place where the setting and the plate work in harmony. The restaurant is open Thursday to Monday for lunch and dinner, and the wine list is carefully chosen, with an emphasis on interesting bottles that complement the modern cuisine.
