The story
On the boulevard du Front-de-Mer in Bormes-les-Mimosas, just outside Le Lavandou, Mimosa brings a polished yet welcoming take on bistro dining. Chef David Archinard and Nathalie Dossmann run the dining room with a shared passion for French cuisine and years of experience in the restaurant industry. Their concept is straightforward: a "bistrot chic" built around the flavours of Provence.
The kitchen works with fresh, seasonal produce, much of it sourced from local producers. The menu changes with the seasons and focuses on Mediterranean dishes that are both flavourful and thoughtfully prepared. Vegan and vegetarian options are available, reflecting a commitment to health-conscious, gourmet eating. Everything is made in house, from the hearty terroir plates to the lighter, market-driven offerings.
Mimosa offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The terrace is ideal for warm summer evenings with family or friends, while the air-conditioned interior provides comfort year-round. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, welcomes pets, and has parking available directly across the street. Guests can also order dishes to take away.
Mimosa’s dedication to honest, well-executed cooking has earned it a place in the Michelin guide, which highlights the restaurant for its consistent quality and value. This recognition underscores the team’s focus on fresh ingredients and precise technique, without pretension. It is a local address where the art de vivre of the Provençal coast is served plate by plate.
