The story

Chez Jeannette: A Michelin-Starred Modern Cuisine Experience in Le Luc, Provence

A Michelin-Starred Table in the Vineyards

Chez Jeannette, at the heart of the Commanderie de Peyrassol wine estate, earned its first Michelin star in 2025 — a recognition of the restaurant’s refined, seasonally-driven modern cuisine. The Gault&Millau guide also awarded it two toques (14.5/20) and the “Table de chef” distinction, cementing its place as a destination for thoughtful, product-focused dining in Provence.

Chef Benjamin Le Balch and His Team

Chef Benjamin Le Balch, who trained at the Michelin-starred L’Aparté in Geneva, brings a quiet precision to every plate. He is passionate about vegetable cookery, drawing on the bounty of the estate’s organic garden and local Provençal producers. Sous-chef Marie Bousquet adds delicacy and balance to the menu, while pastry chef Victor Lorente creates desserts with bold textures and fresh, surprising flavour combinations. Together, they craft a cuisine that is both inventive and grounded.

A Setting Among the Vines

The restaurant’s outdoor terrace, built on stilts, offers an uninterrupted view of the old vines and the striking “Damier flottant arc-en-ciel” by artist Daniel Buren. Inside, the dining room is light and elegant, with an open kitchen, a velvet banquette, and art by Loris Cecchini and Bertrand Lavier. The service is attentive and warm, reflecting the spirit of the place.

Seasonal Pleasures from the Garden

A four-course dinner (120€ per person, including wines) changes with the seasons. Recent creations include a courgette dish — burnt, raw, and cooked, with black lemon, basil, olive oil, and bergamot — and a velvety tomato soup with fresh fig leaf and creamy peanuts. Desserts might feature a voluptuous fig from Solliès, infused with garden herbs and aged balsamic vinegar. Every plate tells the story of the garden and the land.
