The story
Racinette is the evolution of Racine, the restaurant Laurence and Lionel opened in a former chapel in Lectoure. Now, with a more flexible format, they welcome guests from morning to evening. The couple wanted a place where you can drop by at any hour – for a coffee and a pastry, a glass of white with oysters before noon, or a composed lunch of entrée, plat, dessert. The kitchen stays open continuously, and the approach remains the same: local, seasonal, entirely homemade.
Laurence studied design and hospitality, bringing a sense of care and aesthetics to the front of house. Lionel began in craftsmanship before training in Michelin-starred kitchens in Brussels, where he honed precision and a respect for clean, generous plates. Together they moved to the Gers, first to Tillac, then to Lectoure. Racine earned loyal regulars and recognition – including a Bib Gourmand for good quality, good value cooking. With Racinette, they continue that spirit in a more relaxed, daily rhythm.
The menu changes with the seasons and the market. It might include noisettes of Castet-Arrouy lamb, bulots in court-bouillon with mayonnaise, or a porchetta with green beans and petit épeautre. There is always a vegetarian option, cheeses from the market, and desserts like a strawberry soup with sablé breton and estragon ice cream. Everything is made in house, from the bread to the chutneys. The wine list favours local bottles, and the atmosphere is unhurried – whether you come alone, with a friend, or with the whole family.
