The story
La Laiterie occupies a former dairy in an early 20th-century Anglo-Norman pavilion in Lambersart, a quiet green suburb minutes from Lille. The building has been carefully renovated, retaining its original character while creating an elegant, intimate dining atmosphere. Two dining rooms, a bar, and a sun-drenched terrace surrounded by nature offer spaces for everything from romantic dinners to private celebrations.
Chef Édouard Chouteau leads the kitchen with a focus on seasonal produce from local producers. His modern cuisine balances tradition and innovation, drawing on the rich terroir of the Hauts-de-France. In 2024, he was crowned World Champion of Cold Fry Sauce at the World Fry Championship – a playful nod to the region’s famous frites that underscores his technical skill and creativity. The restaurant’s approach earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition of its consistent quality and refined dining experience.
Menus change with the seasons, highlighting the best of what local farmers and artisans offer. The kitchen works closely with suppliers to ensure freshness and support the regional economy. Guests can choose from tasting menus or personalized creations tailored to dietary preferences and budgets. The wine cellar holds over 400 references, managed by a head sommelier who pairs each bottle to complement the chef’s dishes. The selection includes organic, biodynamic, and natural wines alongside grands crus and rare vintages.
The bar serves signature cocktails, fine spirits, and wines, providing a convivial space to start or extend an evening. The terrace, set in a leafy garden, is ideal for warm-weather dining. Private dining is available in the veranda or the bar, with custom menus and wine pairings arranged on request. La Laiterie also hosts regular wine dinners and special events, such as the recent evening with Domaine Delarche from Burgundy.
