The story
Le Restaurant du Cerisier occupies the first floor of a striking building on Avenue du Peuple Belge in Lille. The architecture, designed by SANAA (Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa) in collaboration with Imrey Culbert and Mosbach Paysagiste, sets the stage for a dining experience that is both refined and grounded.
The restaurant is part of the family-owned ICM group, founded by Claude Marquet and now led by his sons. It belongs to the Terres & Saveurs division, which also includes La Maison du Pin, an agricultural estate in the Sud-Mayenne. There, on the site of an old fortified farm, the family cultivates 2.2 hectares of organic vineyards, planted in 1997. The estate produces wines—such as the M53 Chardonnay and M20 Rosé—a craft gin, and buckwheat-based products. This direct connection to the land informs the kitchen’s approach.
The Michelin star, awarded in 2025 and confirmed for the 2026 guide, recognises high-quality cooking that is precise and seasonal. Menus change regularly, drawing on produce from the family estate and local suppliers. The dining room is airy and light-filled, with large windows and a terrace for outdoor seating. The atmosphere is elegant but welcoming, with attentive service.
The ground-floor brasserie offers a more casual option, while the first-floor restaurant delivers a gastronomic meal that showcases the flavours of the terroir. The wine list is interesting and includes the family’s own cuvées. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, air-conditioned, and can accommodate private parties.
Le Restaurant du Cerisier is a place where architecture, agriculture, and culinary excellence meet—a Michelin-starred address in Lille that feels deeply connected to its roots.
