The story
Le Limonadier occupies two distinct floors on Rue Justin-Godart in Lyon’s 4th arrondissement. Upstairs, the restaurant gastronomique serves a seasonal menu built on organic, locally sourced ingredients. Downstairs, a bar and tapas space offers twelve draft beers, natural and biodynamic wines, and cocktails made with French spirits. The contrast is intentional: refined dining above, convivial sharing below.
The restaurant has been named “the most committed restaurant in France” by Ecotable, a recognition that reflects its deep-rooted philosophy. Everything – from the produce to the wine list – is chosen with traceability and environmental impact in mind. The Michelin guide has taken note, awarding Le Limonadier a “Recommended” distinction for its thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking.
Le Limonadier is open Tuesday through Saturday evenings. Upstairs dining requires a reservation and begins at 19:30. The bar and tapas service runs from 17:30 to 23:00, with indoor and terrace seating available. Once a month, the restaurant also hosts a Sunday brunch – book ahead, as spaces fill quickly. Whether you come for a full gastronomic experience or a relaxed evening of small plates and natural wine, the focus remains the same: honest, seasonal food in a setting that lets the ingredients speak.
