In the Brotteaux quarter of Lyon, near the Parc de la Tête d'Or, Le Neuvième Art is the refined expression of Chef Christophe Roure's decades of mastery. The dining room is deliberately understated—light wood tables, linen drapes, and soft greenery—an elegant backdrop that lets the food speak without distraction.
Chef Roure, named Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2007, brings a rigorous technical foundation shaped by time spent in the kitchens of Paul Bocuse and Pierre Gagnaire. His modern cuisine moves nimbly between classic French discipline and personal invention. He thinks each dish first through technique, then adds his own identity—a controlled creativity that can, for instance, turn foie gras into an astonishing strawberry cake. The result is plates built on precision, seasonality, and clear, honest flavour.
The restaurant earned two Michelin stars in 2015, only months after opening, and has held them since. That recognition, alongside membership in Les Grandes Tables du Monde, reflects a kitchen that consistently delivers surprise and emotion without straying into unnecessary complication.
Nati Roure, the chef's wife, oversees the front of house with genuine warmth. The wine list is built to match the cooking, and the team guides guests toward pairings that deepen each course.
