The story
Since 2017, Christophe Marguin has made Le Président his home in Lyon’s 6th arrondissement, steps from the Parc de la Tête d’Or. A chef who moves from table to table, greeting regulars and newcomers alike, he runs the dining room with his wife, one of his sons, and a trusted team. Marguin comes from a long line of restaurateurs; he is also president of the Toques Blanches Lyonnaises, an association dedicated to preserving and evolving Lyon’s culinary heritage.
Marguin describes his cooking as “cuisine that makes sense” – honest, flavour‑driven, and grounded in the local territory. He balances a deep respect for French culinary tradition with openness to innovation, all while pursuing a sustainable, responsible approach. The result is modern cuisine that feels both timeless and of its moment. The restaurant’s weekly lunch menu, available Monday to Friday, changes with the seasons and the chef’s inspiration, offering a refined yet efficient midday option for business diners and locals alike.
The restaurant’s interior is chic and convivial, with three themed private salons: the Salon des Chefs, the Salon de la Famille, and the Salon des Médailles. These intimate spaces – each seating eight to twelve guests – are ideal for private parties, professional events, or a discreet celebration. The same exacting cuisine and service extend into these rooms, making every occasion feel exclusive.
Le Président’s commitment to quality has earned it a place in the Michelin Guide – Recommended, a testament to the consistency and sincerity of Marguin’s work. Here, the past and future of French gastronomy meet in one generous, welcoming house.
