The story
In Lyon’s Vaise district, Le Tiroir lives up to its name. The restaurant’s inspiration comes from a line by philosopher Alain: “Suppose a drawer where you always find new things. Who would stop looking, if they have only begun?” That spirit of constant discovery drives the kitchen. Lunch menus change every week, dinner menus every month, so regulars always find something new.
Chef Emmanuel Decloitre and his team focus on simple, flavourful cooking centred on the product. The cuisine is modern and authentic – what the restaurant calls “bistronomique”. The lunch formula starts at €22 for a two-course meal, with a three-course option at €28 and a four-course including cheese at €33. Dinner offers three tasting menus: “Bouton” (three courses, €39), “Tiroir” (four courses, €45), and “Dégustation” (six courses, €55). A children’s menu is also available.
Le Tiroir’s commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients and regularly refreshed menus earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026, an award that highlights good quality, good value cooking. The Bib Gourmand is a natural fit for a restaurant that prides itself on surprising guests without pretension.
The dining room features honeycomb tiles and charcoal banquettes, creating a modern yet warm atmosphere. Guests can sit outside when weather permits. The service is attentive, and the restaurant can host private parties in a private room. With air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and takeaway options, Le Tiroir adapts to different needs.
Whether for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, Le Tiroir offers a reason to come back – because the menu will be different next time. It’s a place where curiosity is rewarded, and where the kitchen’s creativity keeps the experience fresh.
