The story
Le Tastevin sits within the park of Maisons-Laffitte, steps from the Château, in a magnificent 1899 mansion surrounded by a tree-lined garden. In summer, the shaded terrace offers a perfect spot for lunch or dinner outdoors, while the interior retains a refined, welcoming atmosphere. Several private salons are available for receptions.
Chef-proprietor Denis Rivoire trained alongside several MOF and Michelin-starred chefs before settling at Le Tastevin. His cooking is generous and authentic, built on fresh, seasonal products. The menu evolves regularly, celebrating the best of each season. The cuisine is firmly rooted in the Classic Cuisine tradition, with dishes like blue lobster with fine herb ravioli and a shell emulsion, or Saint-Pierre cooked on the plancha, served with spring peas, green asparagus, and smoked potato. A tasting menu in five or seven courses lets guests experience the full range of the kitchen.
The wine list features more than 400 references from every French region. The sommelier is on hand to suggest pairings that enhance the meal, whether by the glass or by the bottle. A dedicated wine-pairing option is available for the discovery menu.
Le Tastevin has earned a place in the Michelin guide, recognised for its consistent quality and the integrity of Chef Rivoire’s Classic Cuisine. The restaurant will close its doors on 23 May 2026, as the chef prepares to pursue a new venture on the Basque coast. Until then, it remains a destination for those who appreciate precise, seasonal cooking in a setting of understated charm.
