The story
Alivetu is the story of a dream shared by Timothée and Marie. The couple met in hotel school, united by a love for good food and genuine hospitality. After years in fine French houses, they created a place that reflects them: warm, meticulous, and deeply personal. Their inspirations—Italian from her, Corsican from him—converge around the Mediterranean. The name itself, Corsican for "olive grove," honors the family estate in Lumio, near Calvi, where olive trees dot the landscape.
At Alivetu, the kitchen offers a relaxed, unpretentious approach to bistronomy that respects traditional craftsmanship. The cuisine is Mediterranean, with dishes that are direct and full-flavored, yet touched by modern finesse. Short supply chains and the rich terroir of the Mediterranean basin guide the evolving menu, which changes with the seasons and the inspiration of the chef. The restaurant prioritizes organic and sustainable farming.
For lunch, a simple, sun-filled menu changes daily based on arrivals. For dinner, the experience shifts to a blind tasting: the Menu Scoperta (Iniziazione) at 51€ offers a three-step journey of sea or land, while the Menu Signature (Signatura) at 59€ unfolds over five courses, featuring the restaurant's signature dishes. A cheese supplement is available. The team is attentive to dietary restrictions and allergies.
Timothée leads the kitchen, while Marie manages the dining room, ensuring a convivial atmosphere where elbows are loose and bottles are generally empty. They source from trusted partners: Café Luciani for artisan-roasted Arabica, Terre de Mars for organic fruits, vegetables, and eggs grown just 7km from the Vieux-Port, Château Constantin for biodynamic wines, and Maison Ferroni for Provençal spirits. This Mediterranean restaurant in Marseille is a place of sharing—and you are welcome at their table.
