The story
Matthieu Roche, chef and co-owner of Ourea, brings a classical French foundation honed alongside Michelin-starred chefs. At his own table in Marseille, he fuses that technique with Mediterranean instincts, crafting a cuisine that is delicate, vegetable-forward, and subtly spiced. The result is a modern Provencal style that changes with the seasons—and with what local producers bring each week.
Ourea’s menu turns over weekly, built around the best of the region’s produce. Lunch service offers a choice of two or three courses (from 26€ for a main to 36€ for the full trio), while dinner and Saturdays feature a five-course tasting menu at 63€. The kitchen adapts readily to dietary needs, and the restaurant now holds the Ecotable label for its responsible sourcing. Camille Fromont, co-owner, selects the wine list with a focus on organic and biodynamic bottles that match the kitchen’s bright, earthy flavours.
The dining room sits in a calm street near Marseille’s Vieux Port, with outdoor seating available. The energy is soft and dynamic—a place for unhurried meals and genuine exchange. This approach, paired with a meticulous, seasonal modern cuisine, earned Ourea a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026, confirming it as a quietly confident address in the city’s dining scene.
