The story
High on the road to Leutaz, on the Rochebrune massif in Megève, Kristine and Emmanuel Renaut have built a house of wood and warmth. Flocons de Sel is a five-star Relais & Châteaux property with ten rooms, a mountain spa, and a restaurant that holds three Michelin stars. The setting is the Alps in all their seasonal colour – white in winter, green in summer – and the hospitality is authentic, elegant, and sincere.
The dining room is the stage for chef Emmanuel Renaut, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France who cooks with a pure, sensitive signature. His modern cuisine draws directly from the Alpine terroir: fish from the region’s lakes, wild flora and flavours from the high slopes. The restaurant describes its own food as "cuisine nature" – a constant dialogue with the surrounding landscape. Every plate reflects a deep respect for the ingredients and a quiet mastery of technique.
Flocons de Sel has earned its three Michelin stars for this exceptional, place-driven cooking. The recognition is woven into the restaurant's identity, but the experience itself is what lingers: a meal that feels both of the mountains and entirely of its moment. Whether dining on the tasting menu or a simpler lunch, guests encounter a kitchen that never stops listening to the land.
