The story
At the foot of Rochebrune, minutes from Megève’s centre, Le Saint-Nicolas is the gastronomic table of the Au Coin du Feu hotel. The dining room is clad in local stone and timber, creating a warm, fireside atmosphere that matches the restaurant’s name. The open kitchen lets guests watch the service unfold and, when they wish, exchange a word with the chef.
The kitchen is rooted in Savoyard terroir. Rather than relying on short supply chains alone, the team builds direct relationships with local producers: market gardeners, cheese makers, butchers, millers, beekeepers, snail farmers and vintners. The cheese trolley is a thoughtful selection from nearby farms. The same care extends to the wine cellar, where biodynamic references sit alongside classic French appellations, chosen to honour the winemakers’ craft.
Two tasting menus guide the meal, though the chef adapts to any request. The restaurant holds a Michelin Recommended distinction, a reflection of its consistent, ingredient-driven cooking and genuine hospitality.
Outdoor seating is available in season, and vegetarian preferences are accommodated. Le Saint-Nicolas is currently closed for its seasonal break and will reopen at the end of June 2026.
