The story
Le Bistrot du Château is the restaurant of the Château de Montreuil, a 1930s manor set in a walled park on the Côte d'Opale. The kitchen is led by a chef who describes his cooking as “créative et ébouriffée” – creative and unapologetically lively. The menu changes with the seasons, built around local produce sourced from the Hauts-de-France region. This commitment to freshness and regional ingredients has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026.
The restaurant unfolds in two distinct rooms. One is lined with period wood panelling, intimate and hushed, like a private salon. The other is a light-filled loggia with broad windows that open onto the park’s ancient trees. In fine weather, meals spill onto the terrace and into the garden. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here, and the boudoir offers afternoon tea. The bar and the Club provide additional spaces for a drink or a relaxed bite.
The chef’s approach is both grounded and inventive. He favours local and seasonal products, letting them shine in dishes that are as authentic as they are refined. The wine list is carefully chosen, and the team is attentive without being fussy. Whether you come for a leisurely dinner or a simple lunch on the terrace, the setting encourages you to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Le Bistrot du Château is part of a larger estate that has welcomed everyone from Roger Moore to Whitney Houston. The restaurant itself, however, is a destination in its own right – a place where the elegance of the château meets
