Celebrated table
The story
Chanceux Galande occupies a corner of the Latin Quarter in Paris, introducing a Yankee-inspired brunch concept to the arrondissement. Co-founders Farah Laacher and Thomas Lehoux launched the project following their time at Fontaine de Belleville and Ten Belles. They positioned an open kitchen behind a low wooden counter so guests can watch the morning rush unfold.
The brunch menu favors sturdy plates over delicate plating techniques. A favorite combines a breaded schnitzel with fried chicken strips, melted cheddar, and shredded cabbage inside a pillowy bun. Daily specials rotate through bowls like beef tataki served with soba noodles, white miso, and toasted buckwheat. Afternoon visitors often finish with a thick slice of chocolate cake brushed with sea salt.
A wood-cabin-inspired doorway leads into a narrow room defined by raw plaster walls and glossy Formica tables. The casual layout draws a steady stream of university students, passing travelers, and locals seeking a reliable brunch stop. This unpretentious setup secured a place on the 2026 Le Fooding guide. Reviewers highlighted the spot for serving consistent quality without chasing trends.
