The story
Beatriz Gonzalez grew up in her parents’ restaurants on the island of Cozumel, Mexico. At 18, she moved to France to study at the Institut Paul Bocuse, falling in love with French gastronomy. She worked in some of the country’s most prestigious kitchens – Orsi (two stars), Senderens (three stars), and La Grande Cascade (one star) – before opening her first restaurant, Neva Cuisine, with her husband Matthieu Marcant. The success of that venture led them to open Coretta, where Marcant runs the dining room and selects the wines.
Coretta’s menu changes with the seasons, offering a “cuisine bistronomique de saison.” At lunch, a daily plat and dessert are available for €29. The kitchen’s approach is “haute en couleurs et moderne” – colorful and modern, reflecting Chef Gonzalez’s Mexican heritage and French training. For eight years, the team has maintained the same passion and ever-renewing creativity. The restaurant is recognized by the Michelin Guide as Recommended, a testament to its consistent quality and vibrant Modern Cuisine.
Coretta sits at 151bis rue Cardinet, on the edge of Parc Martin Luther King in the 17th arrondissement. The dining room is air-conditioned, with outdoor seating for warmer days. Wheelchair access is provided. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday, lunch from 12:00 to 14:00 and dinner from 19:30 to 22:00. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, letting the food take center stage.
The partnership between Chef Gonzalez and Marcant is central to Coretta’s identity. Marcant’s front-of-house expertise and thoughtful wine selection complement the chef’s colorful, modern plates. Together, they offer a dining experience that feels both personal and polished.
