The story
Cécile and Hélia met while working in a Michelin-starred kitchen. United by a shared passion for cooking and a desire to build something of their own, they opened Farouche in Montrouge, just south of Paris. Their complementary talents and genuine friendship are the foundations of this restaurant — a place where the kitchen feels personal and the cooking is both precise and heartfelt.
The menu changes regularly, guided by the seasons and the chefs’ inspiration. The cooking is described as épurée et gourmande — refined yet indulgent. Each ingredient is carefully chosen, then prepared with creativity and care.
Starters include an œuf parfait with miso eggplant cream and black garlic, topped with summer truffle oil and oyster mushrooms. A salad of octopus, avocado and pineapple comes with a lemon gel and basil-coriander hummus. Tuna accras are stuffed with fresh goat cheese and served with a sweet-sour tomato gazpacho.
Main courses range from grilled duck breast with artichoke purée, corn and peppers in a red curry sauce, to roasted courgettes with tahini-yogurt cream, crispy chickpeas and pomegranate. Cod is paired with creamy herb polenta, roasted cherries and pistachios. A tuna ceviche features hibiscus leche de tigre, fennel salad and beetroot pickles.
Desserts keep the same level of craft: nectarine crumble with honey-rosemary ice cream, a blondie with chocolate chips and red fruits, or floating island with banana crème anglaise and apple-kiwi-matcha salad. A cheese plate with homemade jam is also available.
A set menu offers entrée, plat and dessert for €40, with shorter options at €32. The wine list is carefully chosen to complement the flavours.
Farouche’s thoughtful modern cuisine and warm, unpretentious atmosphere earned it a Michelin Recommended award — a fitting recognition for a restaurant built on friendship and a genuine love of cooking. Whether for lunch or dinner, indoors or on the terrace, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression.
