The story

Halo Paris: Michelin-Recommended Modern Cuisine in the 2nd Arrondissement

A Michelin Recommended address in the 2nd arrondissement, Halo Paris offers a modern cuisine that draws freely from the Basque Country and the Mediterranean. The cooking is vibrant, generous, and built around seasonal, local ingredients.

The menu changes with the market, but a few signatures stand out. Start with the raviole filled with txistorra, brousse cheese and Espelette pepper, served in a meat jus. Or the grilled Saint-Jacques with a creamy pear and watercress emulsion, finished with fig leaf oil. For something lighter, the daikon radish ballotine with a seasonal vegetable stuffing and chervil-parsley emulsion is both delicate and deeply flavoured.

Among the mains, the lamb is cooked low and slow, then finished over wood fire with mussel and parsley jus. The octopus comes grilled over barbecue with a green pesto lacquer and a creamy white bean and soy purée. For two, the txuleta – a 1 kg rib of beef grilled over fire – is a carnivore’s highlight. The wine list is not shared on the site, but the kitchen’s confidence suggests a thoughtful pairing programme.

Desserts continue the bright, ingredient-led theme. A realistic lemon with caramelised rosemary and orange flower, alongside a navette biscuit and lemon granité. Or the crisp hazelnut-almond praline with fleur de sel and amaretto cream.

For groups of twelve or more, Halo offers a private table experience with a dedicated 3- or 5-course menu. The space is open Tuesday through Saturday from 18h to 2h, making it a rare spot that stretches late into the Paris evening without sacrificing kitchen ambition. The address: 12 rue Saint-Sauveur, a short walk from Sentier.

Halo’s Michelin Recommended status confirms what the menu promises – a restaurant cooking with clarity and soul, grounded in French technique but unafraid of Basque fire and Mediterranean sun. A restaurant to book, linger at, and return to.
