The story

La Grande Cascade, Paris – Michelin-Starred Classic Cuisine in Bois de Boulogne

A Historic Parisian Pavilion

La Grande Cascade occupies a 19th-century pavilion in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, originally built as a hunting halt for Napoleon III. The interior retains its period splendour with chandeliers, gilding, and mirrors, offering a light-filled, spacious dining room with generous table spacing. The atmosphere is one of calm and discretion, suited to both business lunches and romantic dinners. In summer, a magnificent terrace set within lush greenery provides an escape from the Parisian bustle, with a second shaded terrace for aperitifs.

Classic Cuisine by Chef Frédéric Robert

Chef Frédéric Robert leads the kitchen with a philosophy rooted in classic French technique. His style synthesises years spent working alongside Bernard Pacaud at L’Ambroisie, Claude Peyrot at Le Vivarois, and Alain Senderens at Lucas Carton. The menu features finely executed dishes such as macaroni with black truffle, foie gras, and celery; crisp veal sweetbread; and turbot cooked in a seaweed and sea-salt crust. The pastry kitchen, under 26-year-old Joris Vee, offers classics like Crêpes Suzette flambéed at the table and an intensely vanilla mille-feuille.

A Michelin-Starred Institution

Awarded one Michelin star since 1965, La Grande Cascade maintains direct relationships with talented producers, many of whom supply wild ingredients that inspire the chef’s seasonal menus. The cuisine is classic, refined, and proudly made in-house. The restaurant is also recognised as a Maître Restaurateur. Its location at the edge of the forest and the city, close to cultural and sporting venues such as the Fondation Louis Vuitton and Roland Garros, makes it a unique destination for a timeless meal.
