The story

L'Abysse Paris – Michelin 2-Star Japanese Dining at Pavillon Ledoyen

An immersion in Japanese-French excellence

At L'Abysse Paris, Chef Yannick Alléno and his Maître Sushi orchestrate a tasting experience that bridges France and Japan. The Michelin two-star restaurant, set within the historic Pavillon Ledoyen, offers lunch and dinner menus where French savoir-faire meets Japanese precision. The result is a continuous dialogue between two culinary traditions, elevated to the highest level.

At the counter

Guests sit at the counter, watching the master’s precise gestures as nigiri are formed moment by moment, on rice served at room temperature. From the chef’s hands to the guest’s, a shared energy is transmitted. The setting is modern and intimate – a sensory encounter that feels both refined and timeless.

An artistic setting

The interior, designed by Laurence Bonnel, brings together international contemporary artists. Works by Tadashi Kawamata and William Coggin create a décor of Japanese restraint, balancing strength and softness. The space seats guests for a meal that engages all the senses.

Desserts by Valentin Mille

In keeping with the fusion of French and Japanese skills, the pastry team under Valentin Mille develops a new vision of dessert. Salty, sweet, bitter and sour dialogue together, resulting in modern pastries that defy categories. Each dessert is a continuation of the main menu’s philosophy.

L'Abysse Paris is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, with a notable sake list and an interesting wine list. Valet parking and wheelchair access are available.
