The story

Le 703 Paris – Japanese Chef’s French Tradition, Michelin Recommended

A Japanese Chef’s Homage to French Cuisine

At 18, Naomi Ogaki left Japan and spent eleven years learning French cooking in Provence and Alsace. He returned to Japan to run French gastronomic restaurants, then opened his own place in Utsunomiya, north of Tokyo. A decade later, he and his team—all Japanese cooks who share his passion—came back to France to open Le 703 in Paris. The restaurant’s name is the result of their effort to express gratitude to the country that gave them so much, and their ambition is to highlight the charm and authenticity of traditional French cuisine.

The Experience

Le 703 is located at 9 rue Fourcroy in the 17th arrondissement. The lunch menu, served weekdays only, offers a choice of starter, main, and dessert for 32 euros, or a two-course option for 25 euros. Dinner features the “Menu Le 703” at 60 euros, with an amuse-bouche, starter, fish, meat, and dessert. À la carte options are also available, with starters from 14 euros, mains from 24 euros, and desserts from 10 euros. The restaurant is open Tuesday evening through Sunday lunch, with last seatings at 14:00 for lunch and 22:00 for dinner.

Recognition

In 2026, Le 703 was included in the Michelin Guide France selection—a well-deserved nod for a kitchen that respects the foundations of French gastronomy while bringing a distinct perspective. The team’s professional background includes stints at Christian Etienne (1 star) in Avignon, Buerehiesel (3 stars) in Strasbourg, and Mon vieil ami in Paris, as well as being named Chevalier de vin de Côtes du Rhône and Chevalier de vin d’Alsace.
