The story
In La Garenne-Colombes, just west of Paris, Le Saint Joseph stands out for its spirited, no-nonsense approach to modern cuisine. Chef Benoît Bordier and his wife Catherine took over the address in 2017, and their cooking has earned the restaurant a Michelin Bib Gourmand for good quality, good value.
The seasonal menu is a playful affair. Expect unexpected combinations like grilled cashews in tarama, roasted celery scattered with peanuts, or Brussels sprouts paired with dry sausage. A saffron risotto might arrive with rosemary whelks and lard, while poached cod gets a Campari condiment. Even dessert shows the same inventive streak—a limoncello baba finished with black and white sesame.
Benoît Bordier, a former Michelin-starred chef, brings a joyful, irreverent energy to the kitchen. Catherine manages the dining room with warmth, and her wine list leans toward surprising bottles, often from women winemakers. The result is a place that feels both refined and relaxed, driven by a desire to comfort and delight.
As one critic put it, "a healthy mind in a healthy body to concoct healthy cuisine where fantasy always has its say." Le Saint Joseph is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday evenings. A weekend takeaway menu is also available.
