The story

L'Oiseau Blanc | Two-Michelin-Star Rooftop Dining in Paris

A Rooftop Tribute to Aviation

Perched on the roof of The Peninsula Paris, L’Oiseau Blanc is a restaurant that looks and feels like a vessel suspended above the city. Its name and spirit honour Charles Nungesser and François Coli, the French aviators who attempted the first non-stop transatlantic crossing in 1927. An impressive near-full-scale replica of their biplane hangs in the courtyard, as if mid-flight toward the Eiffel Tower. Day or night, the panoramic terrace offers a sweeping view of Paris that alone justifies the ascent.

The Grounded, Singular Cuisine of Chef David Bizet

Chef David Bizet comes from the Perche region, and his cooking is rooted in a close, respectful relationship with nature. He cultivates his own vegetable garden, hunts and fishes with care for the ecosystem, and lets the seasons dictate his menus. His cuisine is anchored in French tradition yet turned decisively toward modernity—each plate a quiet, confident celebration of terroir.

L’Oiseau Blanc proudly holds two Michelin stars, a recognition it has maintained since 2022. The award speaks to the restaurant’s constant pursuit of excellence and the chef’s mastery, visible in every gesture and ingredient.

Menus That Tell a Story

The restaurant offers several ways to experience Bizet’s vision: a seasonal lunch menu (Envol de saison, unavailable on weekends and public holidays), a six-service Carnet de bord, and the more extensive Le Grand Voyage. À la carte dining is also available. Each option reflects the chef’s commitment to sustainable, ingredient-driven French gastronomy.

The team includes Pastry Chef Anne Coruble and Head Sommelier Florent Martin, who together ensure the meal is as harmonious as it is memorable. The atmosphere is chic and elegant, with an air of adventure that never feels forced—just the quiet thrill of dining above the rooftops, with the city glowing below.
