The story
Loulou describes itself as a gourmet enclave with Mediterranean accents, a place where long lunches stretch late into the afternoon in the douceur de vivre. Set along the rue de Rivoli, its entrance now opens from the Tuileries Garden or the Place du Carrousel — a quiet threshold away from the crowds. The spirit is one of joy and elegance, relaxed yet refined.
The kitchen celebrates seasonal Italian cooking, working with natural products and letting them speak. The menu changes with the seasons, but the card offers a long list of antipasti, pastas, and main courses that echo the Italian coast and countryside. Among the starters, you might find vitello tonnato, raw purple artichokes with aged parmesan, or a kale salad with avocado, feta, and pomegranate. Pastas range from a simple organic spaghetti al pomodoro to tagliolini with raw sea bass, lemon, and verbena, or a truffle Alfredo tagliatelle. Mains include veal Milanese, grilled octopus with aioli, and Riviera-style sea bass. Desserts stay classic: millefeuille, tiramisù, and an affogato Loulou.
Loulou’s consistent quality earned it a Michelin Recommendation for 2026, a nod that aligns with its reputation for effortless hospitality and carefully sourced ingredients. The restaurant is currently in the midst of a renovation, with a planned reopening in late March 2026. When it returns, it will continue to offer a seasonal, Mediterranean-inflected Italian dining experience that feels far from the city’s bustle, even as it sits at its center. Outdoor seating, air conditioning, and valet parking are available when the season calls.
