The story
On the elegant 16 avenue Hubert Germain, Nomicos is a restaurant that balances refined modern cuisine with a deeply considered atmosphere. Chef Jean-Louis Nomicos leads the kitchen, and the dining room has been reimagined by architect and decorator Marie Deroudilhe. A former student of Terence Conran in London and Patrick Jouin in Paris, Deroudilhe brings a philosophy of simplicity and clarity to the space.
The result is a room of calm beauty: oak flooring, tables in ivory Corian with walnut edges, and leather armchairs. Glass-blown fixtures cast a soft, warm light. High arches in raw steel, reminiscent of Calder’s monumental sculptures, give the room an airy feel. With only thirty-eight covers, the restaurant offers an intimate experience, and the large windows flood the space with natural light that complements the sunny, Mediterranean spirit of the cuisine.
On each table sits a unique wooden sculpture, part of the “Archipels Nomicos” series created by Italian artists Chiara Ravaioli and Monica Cortesi. These small islands evoke the Mediterranean, a subtle nod to the chef’s own story and culinary roots.
The restaurant’s recognition with a Michelin star speaks to the precision and quality of the cooking. The wine list is noteworthy, and the team is attentive to detail, from table service to the option of wine pairings. Whether for lunch or dinner, Nomicos offers a modern French dining experience that is both elegant and welcoming. The restaurant also accommodates private events and features outdoor seating when the weather permits.
