The story
In June 2012, Pierre Sang Boyer opened his first restaurant on rue Oberkampf, in the vibrant 11th arrondissement of Paris. His guiding principle was total transparency: an open kitchen at the centre of the room, with a long counter that invites guests to watch every step of the cooking. This is not theatre – it is an honest, direct way to share the craft.
The menu changes regularly, built around fresh, seasonal produce sourced from local artisans. The cooking sits at the crossroads of French tradition and Korean techniques. This is not fusion for its own sake: the chef’s own mixed heritage gives the food a natural, confident balance. At lunch, you can choose a two- or three-course menu; at dinner, the Freestyle or Découverte menus offer smaller, more varied plates. For those who want to go deeper, a blind tasting is available, echoing the spirit of the restaurant’s early days.
Pierre Sang is passionate about wine, and in 2026 the Oberkampf location is reinventing itself with a dedicated bar des copains, featuring around 40 references – grands crus, confidential bottles, and natural wines. The restaurant has also been recognised by the Michelin guide, a quiet endorsement of the consistency and sincerity of the cooking. The atmosphere remains relaxed, the service attentive, the dining counter the heart of the house.
