The story
Le Bel'Art sits in Champcevinel, just outside Périgueux, and draws its strength from the land around it. The kitchen works with a network of local producers – the Queyroi walnut oil from Rouffignac, field vegetables from the Daudou family, pigeon from Carlux, strawberries from Annick Durieux, veal and Limousin beef from the Alemps family, and flowers from the Ferme des Six Saisons. This is a cuisine built on what the region offers, season by season, with Mediterranean touches woven through.
The restaurant offers two rhythms. From Tuesday to Friday lunch, the Déjeuners du Bel'Art provide a weekly-changing menu – a pause in the day that reflects the market's best. From Thursday evening through Saturday evening, and also Saturday lunch, the Soirées du Bel'Art shift into a more relaxed, pleasure-focused experience. In both cases, the philosophy is the same: products come first, and the cooking follows their lead.
"La passion de notre métier, l’amour de notre région, les beaux produits, la sincérité" – these are the keys to the kitchen, as the team puts it. Michelin awarded Le Bel'Art a Bib Gourmand in 2026, recognising its good quality, good value cooking. It is a fitting nod to a restaurant that puts sincerity and local sourcing at the centre of every plate.
The atmosphere is straightforward and welcoming, with outdoor seating when the weather allows. The dining room is air-conditioned, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Parking is available on site.
Le Bel'Art is open Tuesday and Wednesday lunch, Thursday lunch and evening (for groups), Friday lunch and evening, and Saturday lunch and evening. Private parties can be arranged, and takeaway is available.
