The story
Perched above the Côte de Granit Rose in the former Manoir du Sphinx, Les Bassans is a restaurant that answers the call of the sea. Its name, taken from the northern gannet (Fou de Bassan)—Europe’s largest seabird, which nests on the nearby Île Rouzic—sets the tone: this is a house for travellers, where the rhythm of the tides dictates the pace.
The dining experience here is rooted in modern cuisine with a strong Breton identity. The kitchen draws on the land and waters of the region, crafting plates that feel both grounded and precise. The setting amplifies the food: 25 rooms and public spaces open onto the ocean, and the restaurant’s terrace and bar make the most of the sea air and granite coastline. In warmer months, La Cabane, an ephemeral pop-up on the Esplanade des Fous, offers a more casual way to eat and drink outdoors, with sharing plates and cold drinks against the horizon.
The restaurant also offers a Table d'Hôtes experience, an intimate and convivial dining format available by reservation for groups of 2 to 14 people, served at midday and in the evening.
Les Bassans has been recognised by the Michelin Guide, a mark of its consistent quality and the strength of its modern Breton cooking. It is part of the Fontenille Collection, a group of characterful hotels and restaurants across France and beyond, each chosen for a strong sense of place. Here, that place is Perros-Guirec—where the wind, the granite, and the wide-open sea meet on the plate.
