The story
Between the legendary Menez Hom and the Baie de Douarnenez, the village of Plomodiern in Finistère is home to L'Auberge des Glazicks. This family house, founded in 1870, has been transformed by chef Olivier Bellin into a destination that pairs a Michelin two-star restaurant with a Relais & Châteaux hotel. The setting is both intimate and dramatic: soft colours, natural materials, and views that stretch across the bay.
Bellin’s cooking is rooted in the territory. He describes it simply: "I love marrying the products of the sea and the land of Brittany. My cuisine tells the story of this Finistère point that is dear and unique to me." The menu changes with the seasons, drawing on the finest local seafood and produce. Dishes are built around ingredients like lobster (le homard) and other treasures from the Atlantic, balanced with what the surrounding fields and farms provide. The Michelin inspectors have recognised this precise, characterful cooking with two stars, noting its excellent execution and deep sense of place. Menus such as "Saveur" and "Glazicks" offer a journey through these flavours, with optional wine pairings.
Beyond the dining room, the Auberge des Glazicks offers eight guest rooms with views of the bay, a wellness space, and a wine list that complements Bellin’s cuisine. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming—a place to slow down and let the flavours of Brittany speak. Whether you come for a tasting menu or a lunch, the experience is shaped by the same philosophy: territory, character, and respect for the product. As the chef says, "Everything begins in Finistère."
