The story
Le Vioben sits on the edge of the Aber Wrac’h harbour in Landéda, a short drive from Plouguerneau. The restaurant’s name comes from the fishing boat of Gérard Le Goff, a local fisherman who combined the names of his two children, Violaine and Benjamin. Today, his daughter Violaine Le Goff manages the house alongside her partner, executive chef Yvon Morvan, who previously held a Michelin star at L’Armen in Brest. Head chef Alexandre Azou leads the kitchen, where the focus is on sincere, generous cooking built on the day’s best catch.
The cuisine is unabashedly seafood, driven by what arrives from the boats and producers of the region. The menu changes with the seasons, featuring dishes such as stracciatella di bufala with marinated nectarines and peaches, ceviche with cucumber and fennel, whole Saint-Pierre prepared according to the chef’s inspiration, and grilled lobster or langouste when available. Oysters, seafood platters, and large sharing tables complete the experience. Every plate reflects a commitment to short supply chains and precise technique.
Le Vioben’s approach has earned it a place in the Michelin guide, where it is listed as Recommended. The recognition is a natural fit for a restaurant that combines the freshness of the Finistère coast with the skill of a team that has worked in starred kitchens. The dining room overlooks the port, and the private parking makes the journey effortless. Whether for lunch, dinner, or a private event in one of the three event spaces, Le Vioben offers a genuine taste of Brittany’s seasonal seafood.
