The story
In the heart of Rochefort-en-Terre, a small town of character, L'Ancolie occupies a 17th-century building that feels both historic and intimate. Chef Kevin Hardy and his team welcome guests to a warm, refined setting for a meal built on the seasons and the region.
Chef Hardy’s training took him from the Restaurant Chandouineau in Redon, where he was a finalist in the Meilleur Apprenti de France competition, to Paris and the kitchens of Maison Taillevent. He then crossed the Channel to work with Hélène Darroze at The Connaught in London, a kitchen that earned three Michelin stars. The pull of his native Brittany brought him back, and at L'Ancolie he works with local seafood, market gardeners, and passionate producers.
The menu changes with the rhythm of the land and sea. Chef Hardy's modern cuisine focuses on Breton ingredients: Moules de Pénestin, Rouget from the nearby coast, Fraise de Renac, and veal with a jus. The Oxalis menu offers six courses at 65 €, with a shorter four-course option at 55 €. The Hibiscus menu is a three-course choice at 37 €. Wine pairings are available for each. The team adapts dishes to dietary needs and allergies.
L'Ancolie earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for its refined, ingredient-driven cooking. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and welcomes dogs on a leash.
