The story
For nearly a century, Rosmadec Le Moulin has been a Breton gastronomic institution. The restaurant is housed in a former mill suspended over the Aven River, in the heart of Pont-Aven, known as the City of Painters. This setting—an old stone building with exposed beams, nestled in greenery and perched on the water—creates a scene that changes with the light.
The kitchen is led by chef Sébastien Martinez and his team. Their approach to modern cuisine is written in rhythm with the seasons and the land, guided by the produce and a constant pursuit of precision. Inspired by the artistic heritage of Pont-Aven, the cooking plays with textures, colors, and sauces like brushstrokes on a canvas. The menus are designed as journeys, evolving with the seasons and the availability of fresh produce. A few signature dishes and the finest products from the Breton coast punctuate the meal. Nothing is fixed: each course is unique and vibrant.
The restaurant holds one Michelin star, a recognition of its high-quality cooking. Rosmadec Le Moulin also offers outdoor seating, an interesting wine list, and is wheelchair accessible. The various spaces on the banks of the Aven can accommodate everything from intimate meals to complete privatization for events.
The experience unfolds at both lunch and dinner, with menus that change as the seasons turn. It is a rare interlude, where each dish becomes a work of art.
