The story
In the mountain village of Flumet, ten minutes from Megève and twenty from Les Saisies, Auberge des Églantiers is a traditional Savoyard inn where Mélanie and Kevin welcome guests for generous, seasonal dining. Their work has earned a spot in the Michelin guide, a mark of the kitchen’s steady commitment to the produce of the region.
The restaurant sits at the foot of the Col des Aravis, in a village deeply rooted in the history of Flumet. The cooking stays close to that ground: seasonal ingredients from the area, prepared with simplicity and a sense of pleasure. There is no unnecessary flourish, just a clear respect for what the mountains and valleys provide.
The interior matches the food’s directness. The decoration is warm and Savoyard, with an atmosphere that suits long family meals, dinners among friends, or a quiet solo stop after a day on the slopes or trails. In summer, the outdoor seating opens onto the mountain air.
Dinner is served from Thursday to Monday, both lunch and evening. The inn also offers four guest accommodations in a classic village house, making it easy to stay and explore at a slower pace. Whether for a single meal or a few days, Auberge des Églantiers delivers a kind of hospitality that feels earned over time – rooted in place, honest in its cooking, and backed by Michelin’s recommendation.
