The story
La Grande Georgette occupies the ground floor of La Caserne Chanzy, a five-star hotel and spa that was once the city’s first fire station, inaugurated in 1926. The building’s Art Deco heritage remains palpable — from the raw materials and neutral tones to the glass sets and mirrors that define the space. The restaurant shares its address with the hotel at 18 rue Tronsson-Ducoudray, directly facing the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims, a Unesco World Heritage site.
Head Chef Julien Raphanel leads the kitchen, offering a modern cuisine that draws on the spirit of the Champagne region. The restaurant is one of three dining options within the hotel — alongside Little Georgette and The Winter Garden — but La Grande Georgette is the flagship, earning a Michelin Recommended distinction. The restaurant’s location in a former firehouse creates an atmosphere that is both historic and refined.
