The story
Le Clos Heurtebise occupies a mid-19th-century bourgeois house that once belonged to a textile industrialist. Perched on the heights of Remiremont, at the edge of the forest, the restaurant offers a terrace with views over the first valleys of the Ballons des Vosges regional park. The setting is classic and refined: linen tablecloths, fine china, and silverware complement the careful cooking.
Since October 2004, Valérie and Ludovic Léné have been the owners and hosts. Their approach is rooted in seasonality and freshness. The restaurant’s website describes the cuisine as "gastronomic, personalised, based on fresh products and homemade preparations." The menu changes with the seasons, reflecting the produce of the region. A well-curated wine list appeals to connoisseurs.
Diners can choose from several set menus: "La Coquette" at €39, "Chanoinesses" at €48, and "Abbatiale" at €59. A children’s menu is available for those under 12. All dishes from the menus are also offered à la carte. The style is modern cuisine, executed with precision and respect for ingredients. The restaurant has been recognized by the Michelin guide as "Recommended" for 2026, a testament to its consistent quality. Earlier, in 2008, Ludovic Léné was named "Jeune Talent Lorraine" by Gault Millau.
Whether for lunch or dinner, indoors or on the terrace in good weather, Le Clos Heurtebise provides a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant also accommodates private parties and has a private room. With its farm-to-table ethos and fine dining standards, it is a destination for those seeking authentic modern cuisine in the Vosges.
