The story
Le Restaurant 1451 takes its name from the life of Jacques Cœur, the 15th-century French merchant, and from a nod to the restaurant’s two street numbers. The result is a place that feels both rooted in the past and entirely personal. The team explains: “We have wanted to bring together everything we love – wood, stone, and colour.” The décor reflects that sincerity, with natural materials and warm hues that make the dining room feel like an extension of the kitchen’s personality.
Chef Jérémie built his career by following his instincts and the doors that opened along the way. “A tour of France of gastronomy,” as the restaurant describes it, shaped his approach to modern cuisine. Each plate is an invitation to “pass a moment of gustatory pleasure” – a direct, unpretentious promise that carries through the menu. The cooking is grounded in technique but driven by flavour, with no need for elaborate storytelling.
The restaurant sits in Renaison, on the Côte Roannaise, a region known for its gentle hills and vineyards. It is open for lunch and dinner, with outdoor seating and wheelchair access. The Michelin inspectors have recognised Le Restaurant 1451 with a Recommended distinction, noting the quality of the modern cuisine and the sincerity of the welcome. Here, the history of the name and the chef’s journey converge in a single, unforced goal: to let the food and the setting speak for themselves.
