The story
Cuq en Terrasses sits on two hectares of terraced gardens and orchards in the village of Cuq-Toulza, near Revel. The main building is a former 18th-century presbytery, renovated with taste and authenticity. The restaurant occupies a glass dining room and a terrace that overlooks the rolling countryside – the same view that accompanies breakfast, when homemade bread pudding, granola, fresh eggs from the estate’s chickens, and honey from the property’s bees are served.
Chef Bastien trained alongside several Michelin-starred chefs – Julien Poisot, Julien Montbabut, Jean-Luc Rabanel – before spending five years as sous chef to Michel Sarran. He then worked with double-starred chef Pierre Lambinon at La descente de la halles aux poissons. Now, with his friend from the Souillac hotel school, Charline Mage, he runs both the restaurant and the guesthouse. Charline, who began her career in the kitchen with starred chef Stéphane Tournié and later managed the dining room at Les Jardins de l’Opéra, oversees front of house with a passion for table art.
The kitchen garden and orchards supply vegetables, herbs, and fruit that shape the menu according to the seasons and harvests. The restaurant offers two tasting formats: a 4-course menu at 55 euros and a more indulgent 7-course menu at 75 euros. The cooking is modern, precise, and grounded in the produce of the estate. This approach has earned Cuq en Terrasses a Michelin recommendation – a recognition that underscores the quality of the cooking and the warmth of the welcome.
The restaurant is open for lunch Friday to Sunday (12:00–13:00) and for dinner Wednesday to Sunday (19:30–20:30). The property also offers four guest rooms and an apartment, a swimming pool, a spa with jacuzzi and infrared sauna, and a library filled with books and board games. But whether you come for a meal or a longer stay, the heart of the experience is the same: a tranquil estate where the food and the surroundings are in harmony.
